Fitting Activity into Your Day at Home

Lack of time is the most common reason why people aren’t physically active. They just don’t have a minute to spare. Does that sound like you?

If it does, don’t despair! It’s actually easy to fit more activity into your everyday routine. Work your way up to 30 - 60 minutes a day with activities like:

Outdoors

  • Gardening
  • Mowing the lawn
  • Raking leaves
  • Digging and moving soil
  • Sweeping walks
  • Washing and polishing the car
  • Walking the dog
  • Shoveling snow

Indoors

  • Sweeping and vacuuming
  • Washing floors
  • Cleaning windows
  • Cleaning out cupboards
  • Dancing around the living room

Home-based exercises

  • Follow an exercise program on TV, video or DVD
  • Complete your own endurance, strength and flexibility routine

And remember – every little bit counts!
