Healthy Eating and Youth

The youth years are a major transition time. You grow, your body changes, and you start making more and more important choices for yourself, and your health. It’s a lot of work for your brain and your body!

All that work requires the right fuel – healthy foods, starting with a healthy breakfast. Eating breakfast not only helps you perform better all day long, it also helps you maintain a healthy weight. Skipping breakfast lowers your metabolism and your body burns calories more slowly. You also tend to fill up on less healthy foods later in the day, as your body is craving energy. End result? You’re hungry, you have low energy, AND you start to gain weight. How fair is that?
